Surveys & shoppers

Two ways to collect surveys. You decide who shops.

GuestSignals does not force your team or your guests through a registration process. Share a survey and collect responses straight away, or switch on a sign-up page where customers pick a date and a time window. Both paths feed the same scoring engine and the same dashboard.

01Collection modes

Open surveys, or scheduled sign-ups — or both

Choose per program and per market. A single location can run an open survey link for its managers while the rest of the estate runs scheduled guest visits.
Mode 01

Open surveys — no sign-up

Share a survey and collect responses from people you already have.

Send a link, print a QR code on the table card or add it to the till receipt. Anyone you choose — a manager, a crew member, a regular, a friend of the brand — can complete the survey straight away. No account, no registration, no waiting on a shopper network.

  • Unique survey links per location, daypart or campaign
  • QR codes for table cards, receipts and window decals
  • Optional access codes when you want to limit who responds
  • Responses land in the same scoring engine as every other survey

Mode 02

Guest sign-up with scheduling

Let your customers register and pick a date to shop.

Some clients want their own guests to do the shopping. Publish a branded sign-up page where a customer chooses a location, picks a date and time window, and receives a confirmation and reminder. The completed survey is scored and reported like any other visit.

  • Sign-up page carrying your brand, not ours
  • Date and daypart selection with capacity limits per slot
  • Automatic confirmations, reminders and no-show handling
  • One survey per guest per period, enforced automatically

02No sign-up required

Open surveys: share a link and collect responses today

This is the fastest way to get evidence out of a location. There is no recruitment step, no waiting list and no account for the person responding.
01

Publish the survey

Build the questionnaire once, then publish it to the locations, dayparts or campaigns you choose.

02

Share the link

Email it, put a QR code on the table card or the receipt, or open it on a tablet behind the counter. No account is needed to respond.

03

Responses arrive scored

Each completed survey is scored against your weights and dropped into the location's record the moment it is submitted.

04

Review and act

Submissions queue for review, so anything that fails your evidence rules is flagged before it reaches a manager.

Where the link goes

  • QR code on the table card, tray liner or receipt
  • Email to a panel of regulars you already know
  • Tablet at the host stand or in the back office
  • Text message after a delivery or order-ahead collection

Every response is scored, and every location sees only its own results unless you give it wider access.

03Guest sign-up & scheduling

Let your customers pick a date to shop

Switch this on and the program publishes a sign-up page carrying your brand. A guest chooses the location, picks a date and a time window, and the program handles the confirmation, the reminder and the follow-up.
  • Capacity limits per date, window and location, so you never over-book a shift.
  • Automatic confirmation email, reminder before the visit and a thank-you after it.
  • One survey per guest per period, enforced by the platform.
  • No-shows return the slot to the pool, with a cooldown rule you set.
  • Guest data stays on your program — we never pass it to another client.

Live preview

The sign-up form your guests would use

On a live program this form carries your logo and colours and only offers the dates you have opened. Here it records the request so we can walk you through the real flow on your demo call.

Dietary needs, accessibility, or a visit window that does not work for you.

No account is created and no payment is taken.

04What the participant sees

A survey built for a phone, at a table, in a restaurant

No 40-question form at a desk. Questions are short, timed and answered in the moment, with the evidence requirements stated before the visit starts.

Question 6 of 17

Guest service

How long after you sat down did a team member acknowledge you?

Under 30 seconds30–60 seconds1–2 minutesOver 2 minutesNobody came

Evidence required

Receipt photoArrival time

Illustrative question. Real surveys are built from your standards, with your weights and your evidence rules.

  • Timed questions: how long the greeting, the order and the check-back took.
  • Scored questions against your standards, with a written reason for every deduction.
  • Required evidence: itemised receipt photo, table photo, name badge where visible.
  • Free-text narrative in the participant's own words, prompted by the question they are answering.
  • Skip logic, so a drive-thru survey never asks about table service.
  • Progress saving, so a survey can be finished on a phone at the table without losing answers.
05Verification & quality

Responses you can put in front of a manager

A survey is only worth reading if it can be defended. Four controls run on every submission, whichever collection mode you use.

Captured where it happens

Responses are completed in the browser during or immediately after the visit, with timestamps attached to each section.

Evidence rules enforced

Receipt and photo requirements are set per question. A response missing required evidence cannot be submitted as complete.

Duplicates and re-use blocked

One response per person per period, location-locked links, optional access codes and device checks keep the data honest.

Reviewed before it counts

Submissions queue for your team to review. Flagged responses can be queried, re-surveyed or excluded from scoring.

06Shopper questions

The six questions operators ask first

If yours is not here, the FAQ page covers program setup, pricing and data ownership.
Do participants have to sign up before taking a survey?

No. With open surveys, anyone you share the link or QR code with can complete the survey straight away — no account, no registration, no approval step. Sign-up is only used when you want to schedule specific people for specific dates.

Who actually does the shopping?

Whoever you choose. Most clients use their own people — managers from another location, trusted regulars, a small panel of customers — or their guests through the sign-up flow. The program scores the response, not the respondent's job title.

How do we stop the same person responding over and over?

Open survey links can be location-locked, time-boxed and access-coded, and each survey records the device and time it was submitted from. One response per person per period is enforced automatically, and duplicates are flagged for review.

Can we run both modes at the same time?

Yes, and many clients do: an open survey link for ad-hoc checks in every location, plus a scheduled sign-up program for a defined set of visits in the markets where they want regular coverage.

What happens if a scheduled guest does not show up?

The slot returns to the pool automatically and the participant is notified. Repeat no-shows are handled by a rule you set — a cooldown period, or removal from the program.

Do we pay the people who shop?

That is your call and it happens outside the platform. Some clients offer a gift card, a free meal or a small incentive; others run internal checks with their own staff. GuestSignals charges for the program, not for shoppers.
